NEIL CAMERON
Neil is a very versatile trainer specializing in modifying workouts to specifically meet the needs of each and every client he works with. He has even worked with clients having physical impairments such as Cerebral Palsy, Severe Scoliosis and Paraplegia. Neil has learned how to work with individuals with unique requirements allowing them to “take back” their lives. Additionally running several Boot Camps; ranging in intensity, from TRX, right down to Yoga. Neil understands that hard work is the key to getting great results. However, explaining “the why” is the most important method of teaching for him. After almost 3 years of “working out” Neil realized he was obsessed with the gym and being more physically fit; he had found his calling. Neil craved knowledge about fitness and the human body, which led him to obtain a Diploma in Health, Fitness and Nutrition, graduating with Dean’s (Highest) Honours. Neil now has been gaining training experience since 2010 and is eager to show you what you can really do if you set your mind to it.
Neil has always strived for greatness, trying to be the best he can be, in any, and everything he does. Neil was taught how to work hard at a very young age by his mentor and hero, his Grandfather. He coached Neil in bowling, helping him become a National Champion at the tender age of 12. He also taught him to play many other sports, encouraging him that win or lose, the most important part is that you gave it your best. This attitude has allowed Neil to become a strong golfer as well, winning the Sudbury Junior Open at 16, representing his school as Team Captain for NOSSA, and winning the Club Championship at StoneHill Golf Club.
“All my life I told myself that I was going to start going to the gym, to become stronger, bigger, and just all around more comfortable with how I looked and felt. At 5’10” and only 130lbs, I took the initiative to take control of my body and ultimately, my life. I knew it was time to change how I looked and felt, on the inside and out. I have gained over 40lbs of muscle and completely changed my physique. With this new found confidence I feel great and am so thankful I decided to commit 100% to make the changes necessary for my success to date. Further, it has dramatically increased my flexibility and performance in activities which I am passionate about, including hockey and golf. The most exciting part of my job is that I am able to help motivate and safely teach others to follow my path, being a big part of the lifelong changes they are undertaking. With my passion and drive, together we can achieve the absolute best results possible!”
Aaron Sidenberg
Aaron Sidenberg is a graduate of Laurentian University's Sport and Physical Education Program. With a background in coaching, teaching and personal and team development, Sidenberg understands the dynamics of working people to their limits.
"It's all about building confidence. I try to build a person's confidence up by helping them realize exactly what they are capable of doing. My job is all about envisioning the end result and building the path that takes each individual there. I take pride in all the bricks we lay building that path, the small accomplishments each client achieves in each session because I know in the end it's all those small steps that lead to the big goals."
Sidenberg's passion for helping people led him to opening his own training facility in the fall of 2010. With a vision in mind and determined to succeed, Aaron quickly sought out his new home for training in The Basement Fitness in November of 2011. Surrounding himself with an exceptionally talented team of trainers Sidenberg and his team are quickly building a reputation of excellence within the community.
"Our goal here is simple; it is helping people achieve theirs. Whether someone is looking to lose weight, build muscle, prepare for their sport or simply stay in shape with new challenges to keep them motivated, by having a team dedicated to their clients with a real passion to help others I know we will continually provide exceptional service with outstanding results."
Oscar Cano
"Absorb what is useful, discard what is not" - Bruce Lee.
This quote sums up Oscar's approach to training and fitness. Throughout the years, he has developed a philosophy based on science, experimentation and personal experience. One thing that unifies all of his training is an emphasis on functional strength: everyone can benefit from becoming stronger. "In sport as in life, strength kills!"
With over 15 years experience in the fitness industry along with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics and Education, Oscar has pursued his education in strength and conditioning with designations from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS), the International Youth Conditioning Association ,CanFit Pro(PT), and Titleist Golf. He was the Sudbury Wolves’ Strength Coach for two seasons and has worked with not only athletes but people from all walks of life trying to get stronger, leaner as well as come back from injuries.
"Fitness is not something that any given discipline can claim as their own. Olympic lifting, Sport-Specific Training, Group Training, Bodybuilding and Crossfit-type training all have positive elements that can benefit the individual looking to get fit. In the end, it all depends on what 'fitness' means to you. Each person needs to train according to their own goals, timeframes as well as limitations. This is where I come in. By not limiting myself or my clients to one way of training, I am able to provide the safest, most effective custom routines, no matter what the goal. I've made fitness my life so that you don't have to."
Mairi Campbell

She holds several records on both Provincial and National levels in 2 weight classes.
Mairi’s passion for training others, mixed with her love of Olympic lifting has led her to pursue and begin to train as an Olympic lifting coach. Mairi views Olympic lifting as an excellent means to enhance athletic performance in other disciplines, by way of increasing speed, power and flexibility.

“Anyone can tell you that your goals are attainable. However it takes the right direction to be sure that you will accomplish them. Regardless of your fitness level, or the goal that you are training towards, there is a way to get there. The reason people fail is because of excuses and lack of motivation. My goal for every client is to find the joy in the journey to their goal. The direction, support, as well as motivation that I am able to provide to each person, as they specifically need it, is the reason for my clients' success. Although everyone wants to look better naked, there is something deeper that I aim to instil in my clients.
If there is something that has been nagging at your heart but you are unsure of how to do it, now is the time!”
